U14 Coach bio:

Justin Warner: Over 25 years of playing competitive field hockey both indoor & outdoor in the UK (University of Cardiff MHC, Llanishen and Llandaff HC, Thirsk HC and Durham City HC) and Canada (Oakville FHC). Hold Level 2 FHC Coaching certification, as well as Provincial A (FHO) and WHUA Level 1 umpiring qualifications. Coached the U14 Heroes to Outdoor Provincial Silver (2010), Indoor Provincial Silver (2009) and Ontario Winter Games / Indoor Provincial Bronze (2010)

U18 Thrashers - INDOOR 2011/12 *** NEW INFORMATION***

Indoor Hockey Practices for Competitive U14 and Junior (U18) Girls

Halton FHC has committed to our Youth and Junior player development during this Indoor season to allow players the opportunity to develop their skills at a more competitive level than the Recreational programs afford.

Who should attend:  All U14 and U18 players who are interested in playing in Indoor tournaments (and/or external League if the opportunity arises), and any player who wants the extra skill development opportunity over the fall and winter seasons in order to be ready for the Spring outdoor season. 

When:  Tuesday evenings between October 25 and February 28 (with noted exceptions)

 Fall - Oct. 25, Nov. 1, 15, 22, Dec. 6.  7 – 8:30 p.m. and Nov. 29 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.

  Winter – Jan. 10, 17, 24, Feb. 7, 14, 21 & 28. 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and Jan. 31 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Where:  St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School, 1080 Linbrook Rd., Oakville.  Double gym.  (Use the west canopied entrance from the west parking lot, which is close to the gymnasium.  Access doors are open from 6:45 – 7:15 (or 8:15 – 8:45 for later start dates.)                 

What:  Competitive practice sessions

Cost: 

  Participation cost $60 for players joining the program in January

  FHO/C fee ($30) if this has not already been paid for the membership year Sept. 1 2011 – Aug. 31, 2012,

What you need:  Sport mouthguard and shinguards, non-marking gym shoes, Indoor Field Hockey stick (our contract with SMLS requires that participants use the lighter sticks made especially for Indoor Hockey).

Coaches: We welcome Patrick Faulkner and Jamie McAuleyBoth Patrick and Jamie arrived recently in Canada and joined Halton in the spring of 2011 as Junior Recreational League coaches, and have stepped forward offering to share their love of the sport and provide this opportunity for our Junior players during the fall and winter months.
