HIGH PERFORMANCE/ COMPETITIVE TEAMS
U14 Heroes (Youth), Thrashers( Junior), Hurricanes (Senior)
Teams compete in Provincial Club Championships, tournaments and exhibition matches. Thrashers also compete in FHO’s Junior Women’s Provincial League – tournament style games against teams from across the province (dates and times TBD).
Thrasher trials in early April – check Club website for dates and information as it becomes available. We expect to field two Thrasher teams if enough interest.
Senior Hurricanes compete in tournaments and exhibitions games and Master (ages 30+) games.
Supplementary fees apply to all competitive teams.
We at HFHC are fortunate to have some outstanding coaches with incredible playing and coaching experience. Justin has shared his years of experienced with our club for a number of years now, having lead our youth program and coached the U14 Heroes to success over the years. Jamie and Patrick are new the club this past summer and bring a wealth of experience as well. They have taken on the task of growing our U18 indoor & outdoor competitive program. Our players will benefit immensely from all of these coaches expertise and passion for the game.
|Justin Warner: Over 25 years of playing competitive field hockey both indoor & outdoor in the UK (University of Cardiff MHC, Llanishen and Llandaff HC, Thirsk HC and Durham City HC) and Canada (Oakville FHC). Hold Level 2 FHC Coaching certification, as well as Provincial A (FHO) and WHUA Level 1 umpiring qualifications. Coached the U14 Heroes to Outdoor Provincial Silver (2010), Indoor Provincial Silver (2009) and Ontario Winter Games / Indoor Provincial Bronze (2010).|
|Jamie McAuley: Played provincial hockey for Ulster from under 16 level right through to senior level. Selected to play in European championships for Ireland international team at junior levels. Club hockey has been at bangor hockey club in northern Ireland playing in the premier league for the last ten years. As a coach I have coaching level two from the I.H.A and have been junior convenor for Bangor youth hockey, specifically coaching the boys under 16 teams.|
|Pat Faulkner: During the last 25 years I have played competitive field hockey both indoor & outdoor in the UK (Petersfield HC), South Africa (Johannesburg Wanderers HC) & France (Aix HC). Playing in the UK for 5 years at National Division level, with Petersfield HC, and, later in my hockey life, touring with an England veterans representative team in 2001.I have coached for club & county in the UK for both boys & girls from 5 to 18 year of age & successfully completed the UK HHA coaching qualifications.In addition I am a UK qualified (LOR) umpire. I had first contact with Halton FHC during the 2011 season coaching one of the house teams, where my daughter (Rose) plays, & enjoyed the spirit & enthusiasm of the club & its members.|
