  • What is the difference between outdoor and indoor field hockey?
Outdoor hockey is played on artifical turf and indoor hockey on a gym floor. Outdoor sticks are thicker and heavier, the ball is heavier, and the net is bigger than the indoor versions. A full outdoor game has 11 players on the field for each team and indoor has 6. The games have almost the same rules with minor adjustments for game play. For instance, players can not hit the ball or raise it off the floor in indoor hockey. Indoor hockey is also faster paced with quicker skills.
